" Holland is always associated with water. "
The lakes IJsselmeer (Lake IJsselmeer), Markermeer Alkmaardermeer, Uitgeestermeer and the Wadden Sea amply represent the large water areas. You can also enjoy a paddle with your canoe through canals and other waters. There are various different canoeing routes, you simply lift your canoe from one water into the next at the crossing points. Holland above Amsterdam also has an extensive network of motor sloops. It is easy to compose a route using the numbered navigation nodes. The sloepennetwerk (boating network) App calculates how long your sailing trip will last and tells you where you can moor for food and drink. There are plenty of harbours with excellent facilities in Holland above Amsterdam. From Den Oever you can sail from harbour to harbour and visit a different historic town every day. We can highly recommend the route Den Oever- Medemblik-Enkhuizen-Hoorn-Volendam. Each harbour offers plenty of moorings for passing boats.
No boat yourself? No problem! There are plenty of companies where you can hire a boat or canoe.
